About Clever Jay

Doug Johnson

Owner, Executive Consultant, Fractional CGO/CMO

Doug loves working in the spaces where marketing, sales, product management, business development and operations meet.

With over 30 years experience leading North America's best and fastest growing corporations -- from start-ups to scale-ups to established enterprises – Doug has helped organizations launch, build effective teams, scale, and transform their operations.

Let Doug share what he’s learned in his career as a transformational leader at tech companies like Drivewyze -- where he led the disruptive, SaaS-based truck tech company through its growth from launch to exit -- and at many other organizations such as TELUS, Bioware spinoff Codebaby, and in partnership with businesses like Apple, Microsoft, Trimble and more.

The Clever Jay

Notable member of the crow family (Corvidae), the Clever Jay is best known for its intelligence, loud calls, smart-assedness, and its inability to take anything seriously. Clever Jays are famous for caching both food and good ideas, and play a crucial role in a growth ecosystem by leading through experience – helping its neighbours avoid the same mistakes it’s made over the years, and thus freeing them up to make their own, entirely brand new set of mistakes.
